Wolfenstein is still held as one of the greatest first-person shooters of the original generations of consoles. It inspired many to take up the genre, and see just how much fun you could have shooting Nazi’s, mechs, monsters, and more. But then the franchise went away, until Bethesda got their hands on it that is.They rebooted the franchise in grand style with The New Order, and showed why this old dog can certainly learn new tricks. A phrase they’re definitely taking to Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus if the newest trailer is to be believed.
In this new gameplay trailer (called “No More Nazi’s!” by the team) we get to see more of the action that BJ Blazkowicz and his allies are going to go through in order to free America from the tyranny of the Nazi regime. A regime that turned the US into an extension of their empire, and are going to crush anyone who gets in their way. But, that won’t stop BJ Blazkowicz, no it will not, not at all.
What’s interesting in this trailer isn’t just the over-the-top action, but also the brutality of the weapons and actions you can do. You’ll see parts of enemies gets blasted off in a puff of blood, you’ll be able to brutalize foes with melee weapons, and of course, unleash sci-fi weapons that’ll make you wonder what genre you’re in.
Then there’s the enemies themselves, which include armored Nazi’s, mechs of all shapes and sizes, and a few surprises, and you’ll need to beat every single one of them in order to rally America and get them to fight back against the Reich.
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is coming to Xbox One, PC, and PS4 on October 27th. And it was recently revealed to be coming to Nintendo Switch in 2018.
