For those lucky few attending Blizzcon 2016, you’re in for a real treat. Grammy Award-winning pop parodist Weird Al Yankovic will be appearing at this year’s event, taking to the stage on November 5th.
The concert will close out the two-day gaming convention with an “epic multimedia rock and comedy live show.” Those who bought a virtual Blizzcon Ticket will be able to watch the show live since to show itself is now sold out. As for Weird Al, he has brought satirical anthems to our ears across 14 studio albums, with hits such as “Dare to Be Stupid,” “Eat It” and “Amish Paradise.” Tunes such as these have earned him four Grammy Awards, 11 nominations as well as four gold records and six platinum records.
Blizzard CEO and cofounder Mike Morhaime is excited to be bringing Weird Al Yankovic’s unique blend of comedy and music to Blizzcon: “We’re super excited to close out our tenth BlizzCon with a performance from an epic showman—and fellow geek,” Morhaime said. “Weird Al has entertained millions of people around the world with his hilarious music, and we’re thrilled that he’s bringing mandatory fun to the show and everyone following along with a Virtual Ticket.”
“I’m very excited to be playing at BlizzCon,” said Weird Al, “because it’ll be one of the few times in my life where a significant percentage of the audience is even nerdier than I am!”
