When a game is on Steam Early Access, it means that the game isn’t technically “done”, but, it also means that players can play enough of the game to get a good indication of how it works, then help make it better. For the case of Wartile, the dev has been working hard to improve their game so that everyone can enjoy it both in Early Access and when it’s fully released. Now, they’ve released an update as to what they’ve been doing recently.

First off, they apologize for the long absence between posts, but they wanted to focus on getting work done so that the next time they did update you, it’d be worth it. For example, the last update featured the ability to pick up items on the board and carry them around. They now want to broaden this feature. For example, a simple oil lamp can now be picked up and used as a weapon in way of an oil bomb. They can be used both up close and at range to set things on fire. Also, there will be cans of mead spread around areas, and if you pick them up, you’ll get a nice regeneration of health.

They also promised that new Battleboards are on the way, including one called Thor’s Wrath, where you’ll have to collect relics to open a portal to Niflheim.

Also, they’re finally bringing in another new class of figurine to use in battle, the Archer class will be added and used from now on, and with them you can rain down a slew of arrows on your enemies.

Finally, they’ve made some visual improvements in terms of the cards in the game, they wanted to boost them in a way that’d stand out, and they hope you enjoy them.
