Warframe has been going on for over four years now, and players continue to praise what the game does in terms of both character development and of gameplay. And now, Digital Extremes is rewarding players for keeping it around by giving them a bunch of new content via the Plains of Eidolon update. Within this update lies a new open world for players to explore, a massive new boss to fight, new weapons, new items, and even a brand new Warframe to play, and that’s still only scratching the surface of the update.
To be clear, Plains of Eidolon has only been released on PC and on Steam, the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the expansion/update is going to come a bit later this year. Back to the update, Plains of Eidolon gives players the Open Zone, a many kilometer-wide area that is filled with life, as well as dangers. You’ll get to explore it to your heart’s content, and even meet up with players at the Cetus basecamp if you wanted.
What’s more, at that basecamp you’ll get offered the chance to do special missions, as well as get items that you can customize to an extent that Warframe has never offered before. The Open Area also has a day/night cycle that’ll offer new content for you depending on what time of day it is. The area may be peaceful in the light, but at night? There be monsters.
As for that new Warframe itself, it’s called Gara, and uses glass to manipulate enemies and weaken their resolve in battle. This form also has special items and unique weapons that only they can have, so don’t be afraid to try them out.
Even after all of this, there’s still so much more that the Plains of Eidolon has to offer so jump into the game and see for yourself how massive this update is.
