Warframe Comic Book Series

The free-to-play sci-fi shooter, Warframe, announced today that they will be revealing a brand new comic series in partnership with Top Cow Productions. The post on the Warframe website gives players all the information they ned to get their hands on the tangible products, and includes a sneak peak of the comics themselves. We’ll give you a rundown of all the details right here.

The series will be 5 issues long and “centers on a lone Excalibur and the last surviving member of a village decimated by the Grineer.” Apparently, Excalibur will be up against Captain Vor who has armed himself and his minions with new weapons to take the Tenno down.

According to the post on the Warframe site, the story was created by Digital Extremes’ Game Director, Steve Sinclair. It was then brought to life by Top Cow’s President Matt Hawkins and editor Ryan Cady. Hawkins will also be attending TennoCon and will be participating in a Q&A and autograph signing. Top Cow Productions, and Hawkins in particular, are known for such titles as Think Tank, The Tithe, and Aphrodite IX.

Warframe Comic Issue 1 CoverFans interested in getting a hold of issue #1 can find one at TennoCon, Warframe’s annual convention in London, Ontario. Those that have purchased tickets to the convention will receive a free con-exclusive copy of issue #1 with cover art by artist Stjepan Sejic. Last year, TennoCon offered fans a number of activities to participate in, some merchandise, and plenty of in-game loot. We know that this year, ticket-holder will be receiving a syandana, a sigil, some plat, and now a physical comic book. If you can’t quite make the journey up to the Great White North, Top Cow Productions will have a booth at San Diego Comic Con and New York Comic Con.

Are you excited for the Warframe comic series? Will you be attending TennoCon? Let us know in the comments! And if you want more content from Digital Extremes, be sure to check out their new game they recently announced called Keystone.
