Cetus Wisps are certainly a strange entity as part of Warframe. These odd beings can be found on the Plains of Eidolon, usually found hanging around bodies of water. What they present is a hybrid of a non-hostile NPC and something that can be used as loot. Their movement habits surround wandering around before disappearing into the player’s inventory if they come into contact with it.
What many Warframe players have a problem with where a Cetus Wisp is concerned are their visibility and their hitbox. They are a commonly used crafting component, so it’s understandable why it would be frustrating to find that they are difficult to latch onto.
This is a sentiment shared by many users on Reddit, including the original post by Lorienzo in a topic on the Wisps’ unforgiving hitbox:
You can’t pick it up even when it’s at your nose.
The Wisps spawning at night is a particular issue, especially with their lack of visibility. However, as pointed out by Noktin, you could also argue that the traits that make them difficult is an intentional test of players’ attention and reactions.
One piece of advice if you are struggling to catch them, and this might seem obvious to many, but playing Warframe on smaller screens and lower resolutions makes it nigh on impossible getting your hands on them.
Warframe is now available on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
