World of Warcraft has been around a very long time, and because of that, the game has gone through many changes, and many expansions which have made the realm of Azeroth very large. New races, new classes, and loads of new content have made World of Warcraft something special that continues to evolve. But, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t de-evolve at times. For in recent expansions and patches, the game has grown into something that players don’t like, and they want it to stop. The question is, will the upcoming Battle For Azeroth be what they want?
Well, on one tier, definitely so. Several of the most recent expansions have been featuring “escalation” in regards to the villains. But, as many players have noted, Legion (the most recent expansion) deals with a god, and it’s kind of hard to go bigger than a god (in most cases). So, how was Blizzard to deal with this? Well, they put the game back to where it started, and the focus of Battle For Azeroth is a new clash between the Alliance and the Horder, and for the most part, players are happy with this.
But, setting and plot isn’t enough, World of Warcraft still has plenty of issues that need to be dealt with. PVP is a big one, and Battle For Azeroth is going to adjust how this is done with having no more PVP servers, they’ll just be in the game from now on. Yet, there are still many issues players have with PVP, with items, rewards, balances, it’s a lot that needs to be done.
And, of course, there are plenty of content issues that players have. Such as lackluster quests and dungeons, or items that are near impossible to get or useless to have. Or as fans called it, “the wrath of the RNG gods.”
When you boil it down, the biggest thing that fans want from Battle For Azeroth is to have fun with everything that’s in it. Yes, that’s a tall order, but Blizzard should do all it can to try and make that happen.
