Tree of Savior is about to go through some very big changes, as the team is altering their combat system in the hopes of making it even better. Since this is a large change, the team has been doing a lot of Q&As to answer player questions about the changes. But they know that these wouldn’t answer all questions, so they’re doing a set of very detailed posts about the changes, how they’ll affect you, and of course, how it’ll affect Tree of Savior.

First up, they wanted to focus on the basic and combat stats of the player characters, as these are undergoing changes too. They noted that the STR, INT, CON, SPR and DEX will still be the stats you have and level up with, and choose how they level up. However, after the changes, some of the stats will get fewer things upgraded when leveled up, while others will get more.

Furthermore, how STR and INT will relate to your physical and magic attacks will change. Before, you could get away with not boosting them as much and still being quite strong. With the new combat system though, if you boost STR and INT, your attacks will get stronger in a more noticeable way, and thus give you a reason to both focus on them, and also balance out your characters.

As for how your character takes damage, that too will be changed, as the team is revising the damage elements to make sure that it’s extremely difficult to be “invincible.” They specifically want it to be so that no matter how high your defense is, you can still take damage and the game still offers a challenge.

There’s even more detail the Tree of Savior team went into about the basic stat changes, so be sure to check out the full post so that you are in the know about what changes are coming.
