Tom Clancy’s: The Division just got an update, the Survival DLC, their second expansion. The game’s new open-world experience will captivate hardcore players and gather them in one place to fight for their life. Survival will be available on November 22 for Xbox One and PC and December 20 for PS4. Let’s go through its content.
The DLC happens in the middle of a snowstorm on a modified version of Manhattan. The player has no gear and must survive for up to 2 hours against 23 other players, and to be more challenging, other deadly Hunters. This game mode comes with survival mechanics and permanent death (Death in this game mode will get the player respawned back in the terminal).
First of all, the enemy NPCs are level 34, the maximum gear score is raised to 256 and stash size increased from 70 to 150 total items.
On loots and rewards, NPCs drop crafting materials and chances for higher quality increases with World Tiers, as do most rewards, such as supply drops, items in scavenger crates, Credits, and Phoenix Credits.
There are a lot of skill changes as well. The life time of Pulse’s mods’ were decreased, excluding Recon Pack, which got increased; Tactical and survival link duration were increased; First Aid, defibrillator’s heal was increased and overdose’s self-heal decreased and cooldown increased.
PC users only, will have radial menu for emotes.
There are a lot more changes in The Division with this new DLC. Changes in weapons, gear sets, skill changes and also some bug fixes. If you want to check them all in-depth, go to the DLC’s patch notes.
This new DLC is having a positive reaction by the community, but because of changes, there are negative opinions about them too. In the words of Grimrn “(…) Hunters Faith is now useless(…). Instead of bringing the lacking items up to an equal level, let’s bring down everything that players have spent time building to optimize.”
