After almost nine years, Team Fortress 2 is getting a Competitive mode. Yes, that’s right, nine long years. Feeling old yet?
We remember like it was yesterday, the game that combined FPS and arena games. In the era where MOBAs like Leauge of Legends were in making, this game dominated across the globe as most played arena game. Even though many players were playing this game in short breaks while waiting in queue for some other game, the majority players that played this game competitively and were pretty good in eSports scene.
All in all, this game was and still is fun to play. Moreover, now that it’s receiving Competitive mode it will become more interesting. But, there is something that bugs us to the core. Not long ago Overwatch, which is considered to be a copy of TF2, released its own Competitive Play mode. Could it be that this is TF2’s answer to Overwatch overtaking arena shooter genre? Well, we know that TF2 announced this mode over a year ago, but still. To time it like that.
Not only that but TF2 is replacing Quickplay with Casual mode, which will be unranked and will provide a break for anyone in need for some relaxing rounds.
