SWTOR’s new gearing system is making experienced players leave PvP, as it is making the game easier than it already was with recent updates. The popular MMORPG set after the original Knights of the Old Republic game has been around for quite a while now, but it seems upcoming changes do not satisfy all.
Players are not content with the new gearing system, as it can be seen on the Official forums. They “(…) [k]new this gearing system was going to be terrible,” says TrixxieTriss, but apparently, it’s actually worse than they expected it to be. There is “(…) nothing good or even hopeful anymore about RNG gearing with CXP.” This new system is making SWTOR’s PvP easier, but that means that the skill level of players going to PvP will be really low, on a “noob” level. So by consequence, that will make experienced PvP players want to leave.
The community says that by making PvP easier, the new players won’t be so “afraid” to play PvP. The game has become easier, making fewer people leave the game at the start, and with these recent changes, by making PvP easier, they plan on making more people play PvP. With that, more will stay to keep playing the game, but that is what might make experienced players start leaving.
Some disagree, and say that this new gearing system isn’t to make gearing up faster, but to increase the games’ “uptime”, making more content of interest for all types of players. Although there isn’t much RNG in this system yet “They will add more RNG as they can.” eventually.
By the way that these updates are going, a lot of people say that PvP will actually die by complete. “We’ve lost 20% DMG boost with expertise in PvP, PvP trauma will be nerfed from 35% to 15%,” says helpmewin and now “word on the streets is the new gearing system on PTR was extremely RNG/dumb and (…) it’s STILL plans to be RNG/Dumb with no changes even when players complained about it when testing it,” says kissingaiur.
SWTOR community already isn’t that big, and making these changes to the game will, someday, come to a level that, not only people leave the game, but the game gets “not recommended” by former players.
Maybe when the game gets revamped, new people might get interested it and experienced players would also recommend coming back to play, or for new people to give it a try.
