Pokémon Sun and Moon was revolutionary, and evolutionary for the Pokémon series in many ways. Not the least of which is because of the creation of the “Alola Forms”. What are they? Well, they were special, and unique, variants of classic Generation I Pokémon, that have been altered in look and type due to their time in the Alola region.
While this may have seemed odd at times leading up to the game. The Pokémon themselves became almost instant classics. Especially when it came to the Alola forms of Ninetails, Marowak, and Raichu.
Now though, you can take your love of these Pokémon to a whole new level. As it was revealed that special plushies of many of the Alola Forms are being made by Takama Tomy Arts. These plushies will include a 37mm Alolan Raichu, a 33mm Alolan Vulpix, a 47mm Alolan Ninetales, a 34mm Alolan Dugtrio, 40mm Alolan Marowak, and a 100mm Alolan Exeggutor.
Now, currently, they’re only set to arrive in Japan, and will be priced at 300 yen. However, given the love of Pokemon in the US, and the love of plushies in the US, it’d be very odd if these didn’t cross the oceans and go to a store near you.
What’ll be interesting going forward is to see if some of the other Alola Forms get plushies. As for the game, the big question is could MORE Alola Forms show up? The potential is there if they decide to make a few more. What classic Gen I Pokémon do YOU think deserves an Alola Form? Let us know!
