When it comes to online titles, there’s always a question of whether it’s right to use regional play, meaning that someone from one country can face off against someone from another country halfway across the world. Usually, this depends not only on the title, but also the company that made the game, and the amount of servers they have access to. For Summoners War, the game has been region-locked since the beginning, meaning players could only play against players from their own region and no one else. That’s no longer the case.
Com2us has announced via a press release that the highly-anticipated World Arena build is out now for Summoners War. What this means is that the six regions the game is available in, North America, Europe, China, Japan, Korea, and ASEAN, will now be able to face off against each other with no restrictions.
This release has been a long time coming, and it all started back in November of last year, where 242 countries came together to do a test run of the World Arena. After months of tweaks and improvements, the game mode is finally here.
This isn’t the only new thing in Summoners War. With the arrival of the World Arena, comes a big improvement to the matchmaking system. The team at Com2us wanted to make sure that accuracy and fairness in the matches was kept, and so they improved the system to make sure it did that. Plus, if you beat a higher ranked opponent, you’ll get more Victory Points.
Finally, Ranked Matches will be run in seasons, with each season being three months. You’ll get special prizes depending on your rank at the end of each season.
So, head to Summoners War and try out the new World Arena mode. The whole world is waiting to fight you.
