For video games, success is measured three fold. By what the critics say, what the fans say, and by how much money it makes. For some games, they can only get one of the three, for others, they can get two. And then, there are those titles that can get all three, and truly be an unquestionable success. Such is the case of Summoners War, the mobile RPG that has been on fire since its launch…in 2014! It’s a global hit, a critical success, and now, an incredibly high grossing one.

In a press release, developer Com2Us revealed that its popular mobile RPG has grossed $1 billion US dollars. Now, while that may seem paltry when you realize it’s been out for three years, let it be known that it’s been constantly gaining money all that time. It’s not a case of waning interest finally getting to that point, rather, Summoners War has been growing in very interesting ways.

For example, the game is becoming an eSport, it’s getting an MMORPG, and that’s not talking about the other updates that have made the game a constant success. How constant? Well, it’s been on the top of numerous charts in both plays and revenue, including the US. That’s very impressive according to Com2Us as mobile RPGs have a tough time topping the US, but Summoners War has done it many times.

What’s more, because of the global appeal of the game, the series might even get more media reach via a potential animated series. This has been asked for by many as the world of Summoners War is vast and full of lore.

So, any way you look at it, this game is a hit, and it doesn’t look to be stopping anytime soon. If you play the game, let us know your favorite parts about it!
