For an MMORPG that relies heavily on online support, the number of players that the game has is extremely important. After all, if the players don’t play it, and new players aren’t coming, then the game isn’t going to last very long, if at all. For the MMORPG Rift, the game has been around since 2011, and as such, has the challenge of trying to get more and more players despite the age of the game.
Yet, players are still interested. After a few years, they want to potentially come back to the MMORPG. But, evidently, they don’t want to join if the player base isn’t healthy. So, the questions have been asked:
“But is the game truly worth returning to now in its current state? Or should I avoid it?”
The game’s Reddit community was happy to answer, and some interesting insights were given. First up, one player thinks that the game is just fine. They too took a break from the game, then recently came back and found the game very enjoyable.
However, not everyone shares their view. One person, in particular, said that not only was the game not healthy at all, but that the forums for Rift were full of negativity towards the game. They note that Raids and PVP are particularly bad in Rift right now, and that the development team are focusing on monetization, and are completely ignore the feedback that players are giving them. Others had a slightly more positive look, mainly saying that the game is “top heavy”, and that you have to be near the cap to truly capitalize on things.
But as in all things, the most important opinion is your own, and as such, if you want to play Rift, and see if it’s good still, just go and play it. Based on our own experiences, the MMORPG is still among the more active ones.
