StarCraft II players who are interested in playing ladder this season will have to put those desires on hold for just a bit. The fifth season of the year has now been put on lock. That means that players won’t be able to get promoted from their current league or tier. It also means that the bonus pool for players will stop growing until the lock ceases.
That being said, players are able to play out their remaining bonus pool as well as compete for higher standing within your respective division by the end of the season.
During this season lock, your MMR will continue to update. Games during the lock do still count, so if you manage to play significantly well, you might find yourself off to a better start during the next season.
Season 6 isn’t very far off, beginning on November 22nd. During the new season start, milestone rewards will be locked and bonus pools will be reset.
As a bonus, all players who do not currently have a free name change, will have one applied to their account around the start of the new season.
StarCraft II players have a lot to look forward to in this upcoming seasonal transition. Remember, continue playing despite the season lock.
