For MMORPGs like Star Wars: The Old Republic, information about what’s coming next, or even what’s coming eventually, is a big thing for players. After all, they want to know what to expect so that there’s excitement and a desire to keep playing, which is one of the hardest things to do in the genre at times. For many MMORPGs, they break major content updates into “seasons”, that way players can expect certain things, and then when the season is over, the developer can have a break to work on the next one.
However, for quite a while now, there hasn’t been anything from developer Bioware about what’s coming in Season 08, or even when it’s due to arrive, if at all. This seemingly resulted in players getting worried, as well as anxious.
“So Bioware has been completely silent about season 8 for so long now. Can we get any information on what’s happening or at least an acknowledgment of the seasons existence?” asks player SilverStarSeeker.
Other fans are eagerly awaiting for information too, and for some, the lack of information is annoying to them, and a direct contradiction to what Bioware promised them.
“I found the most irritating the fact that Bioware again promised shorter seasons and again lied. Almost 4 months and absolutely no information neither about rewards nor ending date,” says DerSchneider.
For others, they just wish that simple improvements to Star Wars: The Old Republic would be done, such as updating the leaderboards for the game.
Some people though aren’t as sympathetic to these players, as some noted that no matter what Bioware reveals, or adds to the game, that the community will complain about everything regardless. Even spelling out exactly what would happen from start to finish in the season.
Regardless, until the new season is announced and detailed, fans will be waiting for new things to do in Star Wars: The Old Republic.
