For those of you who don’t know Star Wars: Battlefront VR had a demo released at Gamescom 2016 and it looks beautiful. The game takes you on a journey with stunning 3d battles in space, really capturing the essence and intensity of Star Wars. It’s been said that the game must’ve followed the star wars film’s setup very closely from the visuals, the classic characters, and the sound effects.
Another thing that the game did great on was scaling. For example in the beginning of the game you see an AT-AT flying over you making you feel almost insignificant. It then proceeds to warp you into an X-wing with a bunch of confusing gadgets and buttons. One of which expands the X-Wing’s wings so that they form an attack shape. It also had a ton of map icons as well that would allow you to warp from area to area.
This is definitely an experience that everyone should give a try, the directors did a really good job of making the player “feel” like they’re floating in space and even gave you the option of picking your own character. You can try the X-wing mission in the Winter, and it should be free to all PlayStation users.
