Today, the second annual Overwatch Summer Games has begun. The first Summer Games were actually the first special event that the game ever had, so bringing it back has made a lot of fans happy. It’s bringing in not only skins from the original games, but new ones, as well as the return of Lucioball, albeit with some tweaks and changes to the list. Fans have been patiently waiting for it to come, and now it’s here. But for some, the desire to see a skin outweighs the desire to play the Summer Games.

On Battle.net, a player named Ryto spoke very passionately about Sombra, his main, and how she doesn’t have very many good character skins (in his mind, she has only one decent one). Since the Summer Games was going to be bringing new skins to characters, he made his case for Sombra to get one:

“She has been in 5 events come tommarow and if she doesn’t get a skin she will have one okay purple one. If she doesn’t get one this event she better get 2 legendarys and be a main character for the event. “

Sadly, this is the case for a lot of Overwatch characters, some (like Tracer) have been the focus of new and epic character skins, while others have gotten what the community considers sub-par ones. But his faith and hope has been rewarded, for Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan himself popped onto that Battle.net forum and confirmed that Sombra would indeed be getting a new skin.

Now, as with all things, the beauty of the skin is in the eye of the beholder. But the fact that she’s getting one at all should be a thrill to fans. And who knows who else will be getting a skin in the Summer Games? Who would you like to see get a cool Summer Games skin? Let us know in the comments below.
