Shroud of the Avatar, a sandbox fantasy MMORPG under development by Portalarium, releases update #204. The update includes new areas, new community resources, and potentially an emote that lets players throw fall leaves into the air.
Shroud of the Avatar #204
Players can now get their first look at the new areas of Superstition Canyon and Blood Bay, as well as the player-owned town of Dragomir.
Shroud of the Avatar players have through this weekend to collect on Black Friday bonuses, as well as acquire a number of special items, should they wish. Most of the expiring items are Halloween-based, like jack-o-lantern masks and a lovely sounding “Rotten Flesh Cloak.” There are also some Village Homes that will no longer be available. See the full list at the game’s site.
The deadline for all of this material is midnight, CST, on November 28th. At noon on that same day, the developers will begin a 12-hour telethon with lots of in-game events and prizes. As before, players will also be able to use the telethon as an opportunity to voice their questions about the development of the game. Players with questions can post them in advance in the comments section of the article announcing the Fall Into Winter Telethon. The developers will also be running a Discord chat during the event.
Fall Into Winter Telethon
There is a whole list of stretch goals for the telethon fundraising event, each of which will go to all supporters pledging $5 or more from the start of the telethon. The first of these, at a goal of $10,000, is an emote that lets players throw fall leaves into the air.
Other fall-themed rewards are available at higher funding thresholds, including the implementation of a pet squirrel at $50,000.
