Shardbound is a sci-fi/fantasy card collecting strategy game in which you collect loads of cards in order to form armies and battle in matches of cunning and skill. You also get to create your own in-game house as well as compete against other players. Many have already played the game even though it’s on Steam Early Access and since it’s there, the team behind the game is releasing lots of updates as time goes on. One of the biggest overhauls has come as the Packrunners, which has now been fully detailed.

This Packrunner overhaul is a result of player feedback. The developers are able to not only improve this set of cards, but distribute it for wider testing among the community. Their goals for this overhaul is multi-layered as they want to try and ensure a variety of cards with the Bond strategy as well as give players more interesting choices. They also want to make the Primal Minions better themed and more consistent, as well as making more choices when you play as or against Yellow players. Finally, the developers hope to remove some winning conditions that have been frustrating players.

To ensure that those goals are met, Shardbound has had numerous cards replaced or reworked to better fit the game, or even been removed. But don’t worry; if you have cards that have been altered, you’ll get the newest version of the card. Or, if you have one of the replaced cards, you’ll get the card that replaced it for free.

One of the main points of the Packrunners is the “Bond” ability, now included in the game. This allows you to “bond” a character with a minion in order to get a boost in stats. There are other perks to these creatures as well, so check out the full update for all the details.
