Pokemon Go just announced yesterday that a new update was coming to the game and now today the developers have released second generation legendaries. Now, sadly, this only means that Raikou, Entei, and Suicune will be coming to the game.
Raikou, the electric legendary, Entei, the fire legendary, and Suicune, the water legendary will all be in game starting today. However, there’s a catch. Raikou will only be available in the Americas, Entei will only be available in Europe and Africa, and Suicune will only be found in the Asia-Pacific region. Once again, rare Pokemon are being geographically locked.
Along with these three legendaries, “EX Raid Battles” will also be coming to the game. EX Raids, previously known as Exclusive Raids, are in a sort of Beta stage at the moment and changes are imminent. When first announced, EX Raids were to be the only way to get the highly sought-after Pokemon, Mewtwo. According to the latest post on the Pokemon Go website, “EX Raid eligibility requirements, frequency, times, locations, and durations” will all go through periodic changes. This is good news as previously, these EX Raids were only made available to players who had “recently” done a raid at one of the randomly selected gyms that housed EX Raids. This feature will reemerge as early as the 6th of September.
Raikou, Entei, and Suicune will be available in their various geographical zones from today until the 30th of September. Players have a month to capture their Johto legendary and possibly be invited to an EX Raid so if you play, be sure to keep your app open.
