Saga of Lucimia is an MMORPG that is meant to be much more than its competition. Mainly, its focus is on group-based gameplay rather than a lone player going out and doing whatever he or she wants. As the team notes, this isn’t just a game, it’s a living, with players forming a real community.
The game itself will be divided into story volumes, with Volume I being the release content, and then the following expansions being Volume II, III, and IV. The story is that you are a group that sets out to find a key piece of your world’s history. Before the start of the game, there was a Great War during which a character named Archmage Chaldeon took away the Book of Knowledge, which was the way that magic entered the world. Without it, there is no magic in the game. Along with your team, you must journey to get the book back, and thus bring magic back into the world.
That is your key mission in Volume I of Saga of Lucimia, to get the book back. Once you do, Volume II will give you access not only to magic, but to other races, magical archetypes, and much more.
But before any of that can happen, the game is still in testing. So far, there have been six Early Access beta tests of sorts, and the team has revealed that the 7th will be arriving in April. No definitive date has been set as of yet, but the team is hopeful that they’ll have a set weekend announced within March. They’ve also planned out the year ahead, and hope to meet many fans during the Austin game conference later this year.
