Warframe is a free-to-play sci-fi shooter from the Canadian developing company Digital Extremes. This weekend, the second annual convention was held for the game in London, Ontario. The convention, called TennoCon, was full of activities, panels, and announcements and one very special Warframe-themed comic from Top Cow.
A tangible copy of the comic was given to those that attended TennoCon but if you weren’t lucky enough to be there, you can read the first issue right here via PDF. The comic is illustrated by Studio Hive, written by Matt Hawkins and Ryan Candy, and lettered by Troy Peteri. The story itself is an original straight from Game Director Steve Sinclair from Digital Extremes.
The comic tells the story of a village which was ransacked by Captain Vor and the rest of the Grineer. One lone Excalibur takes out the Grineer and saves a woman from otherwise certain death, though they arrived too late for the remaining villagers.
It teases readers about the history of the Tenno and the frames they inhabit and we see a side of of the warframes we have never experienced before. If the quality is maintained throughout the next issues, this comic series will likely be a massive hit among fans.
The first issue of the Warframe comic was unveiled at TennoCon. Writer and Top Cow’s president, Matt Hawkins, attended the convention and participated in a Q and A about the release and signed some autographs afterwards.
Once again, if you want to read the “Convention” edition Warframe: GHOULS, you can do so courtesy of the guys over at Top Cow. check out the PDF on the website and tell us what you think.
