Developers Rare have released their first video in a youtube series documenting discussions on their upcoming sea-faring adventure game Sea of Thieves.
In this first episode, entitled ‘What is Sea of Thieves?’ executive producer Joe Neate and design director Gregg Mayles headed to their local tavern to tell us all about what inspired the making of the game and what it means to them individually. Whilst expressing that the game is strictly online, the duo reassure fans that they will be able to venture out on their own if they so desire. They also put emphasis on players themselves being the characters in the game, rather than rely on AI controlled characters for gamers to interact with.
Announced at E3 back in 2015, Sea of Thieves is the highly-anticipated action adventure from legendary developers Rare of Banjo Kazooie, Battletoads and Conker’s Bad Fur Day fame. Featuring first-person gameplay and user-generated content, the game gives swashbuckling enthusiasts a unique pirate life experience like never before. Set in an open world multiplayer environment, players will take to the high-seas to live the pirate life of taking on sailing off from one island to another, drinking, pillaging and taking on all kinds of quests to satisfy your buccaneer lifestyle.
Sea of Thieves will be available on Xbox One and PC next year.
