With the recent release of patch notes for Diablo III, fans are coming up with a variety of suggestions within the public test realm on what else could improve the game. Recently, we highlighted the introduction of Primal Ancients to Diablo III, and how players reacted to it.
Now, one player has suggested a Runeword-style system for Primals, which could help to buff skills that aren’t being used. In a thread titled “Wild Vision: Runeword Primals”, user Ruined suggested the following:
What about a Runeword-like Primal system to buff skills that are not used currently to increase the build diversity?
There would be a random rune in front of Primal’s name, like “Tal Primal Ancient Warmonger”. Could be any other rune as well.
When a player equips a runeword consisting of Primals like TalEthUm, the character gets “+120% more damage to channeling skills”
(or then that runeword would give a certain boost to one of the skills for every class, like to 150% to Disintegrate, 200% to Whirlwind, 100% Rapid Fire etc.)
For those who may be unfamiliar with the term, Runewords were a feature back in Diablo II, which could be used as a way to combine runes in an item to give it exceptionally high attributes, going way beyond what individual runes could accomplish by themselves. In order to make a Runeword, the items used must’ve been gray text items, being normal, exception or Elite. Whilst Superior, Ethereal and Low Quality items could be used, magical, Rare, Set, Crafted or Unique could not be used, regardless of whether they had the correct number of sockets. Runes also had to be socketed in the correct order, and used the right amount of sockets.
