New games launch every day, and the video game industry has never been this popular, but this also makes it hard for the players to find something new, unique, and exciting to play. Prodigy might be an interesting title to take a look at, as it’s a turn-based game where you create a team of special heroes, each with their own unique abilities, and then battle the enemy and prove your superiority.
The battles in this game take place in an arena, with two teams facing each other. The field is made out of 3×4 squares, and it’s made in such a way so that players have to use various tactics and strategies in order to take advantage of their characters and use them in the most efficient way possible. One player will send his characters on the offense, while at the same time the other character prepares for this attack and sets up his defenses. As in most tactical turn-based games, you have to master the art of positioning, as this is the key to ending your opponent swiftly.
There are two types of forces in Prodigy, Harmony and Dissonance. Players get to use whichever one they prefer, and as you can imagine, each of these sides has their own special perks. Harmony, as the name suggests, aims to aid their teammates in a battle which also allows them to gain power which is used to cast special abilities, and if a Hero acts in Harmony then it creates a square field that’s filled with Mana. On the other side is Dissonance, which is the complete opposite of Harmony. Dissonance can enhance a creature with brutal, overwhelming power which can be used to crush anything that opposes you, but this power is also unstable and chaotic, so whoever uses it must be prepared for the consequences.
Prodigy is coming on November 8th, 2017. If that’s too long to wait, there’s a free demo available now via Steam. Will you try the game out once it launches on Early Access? Let us know in the comments section below!
