Serebii has recently revealed details regarding Season 3 of Special Battle and the 5th Global Mission in Pokemon Sun & Moon.
Special Battle Season 3 will span from March 21st – May 15th. The unique twist in Season 3 is that all Pokemon are required to hold Z-Crystals. No two Pokemon may hold the same item, which, in combination with the Z-Crystal requirement, means it would be difficult for trainers to battle with a mono-type team.
Battles are done in the Single format, which means trainers must choose three of their six Pokemon to bring into each match. All Pokemon may be used except for certain special Pokemon, as listed on Serebii: “Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Diancie, Hoopa, Volcanion, Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, Lunala, Necrozma, Magearna, Ash-Greninja”.
The 4th Global Mission which asked players to earn 250,000 Battle Points (BP) in the Battle Tree was a major success. Trainers demolished the measly goal by earning over 15 million BP. Trainers that contributed towards the goal may now collect their reward of 2,000 (or 4,000 if their game is linked to a Pokemon Global Link account) Festival Coins from the Global Mission receptionist in the Festival Plaza today. Additionally, because the stretch goal of 500,000 BP was met, a Heavy Ball and Rare Candy can be claimed via a serial code released on the Pokemon Global Link at a later date.
The 5th Global Mission is set to begin on March 28th and will run until April 10th. It will require players to hatch eggs to complete. Seeing as how the previous two Global Missions were easily completed by the community, it wouldn’t be surprising if the next Global Mission had a more ambitious goal.
