Pokemon Go, the massive pocket-monster catching mobile game, recently released the second generation of legendaries into the app. Today, the developers announced that a new event will begin on September 22nd at 1pm PDT in celebration of the Equinox.
During this event, players will gain double the amount of Stardust for every Pokemon they catch and every egg that they hatch. Pokemon Gyms and regular Stops will also be giving out “special” 2km eggs which will have the chance to hatch a Chansey, Mareep, Larvitar, and more. Registering a new Pokemon in your Pokedex during this event will also earn you triple the amount of experience that it normally would so get catching, trainers!
If you plan on spending money on the game, there are plenty of boxes available for varying amounts of Pokecoins that include things like lucky eggs and lures to help you on your Pokemon catching adventures. If you are going to be taking part in the event, the developers recommend you keep battling those legendary Pokemon for as much experience and Stardust as possible. The second generation legendaries, Entei, Suicune, and Raikou, will be switching up their geographical locations on the 30th of September so if you don’t have the one locked to your location, be sure to get one soon.
The Equinox event starts on September 22nd at 1pm PDT and will end on October 2nd. If you are going to be playing, make sure you get out there and take advantage of the inevitable influx of players within the first few days before the hype dies down. Additionally, Exclusive Raid Passes are being handed out to some players who are participating in legendary Raid battles for a chance to catch a Mewtwo, so there’s more than one reason to go and play this month.
