Though we’re basically half a month through 2017, people are still pondering about 2016, and what made it great. Mainly, in regards to video games, as people are still making their picks for Game Of The Year for last year. Now, the team behind the PlayStation Blog decided to pitch in, going to fans across the world to deliver what they felt were the best titles from the Sony lineup.
For example, the Game of the Year? Was Uncharted 4. They noted that this was a stupendous year for high-quality games. And that the fans reacted strongly to the main GOTY award tier, with strong poll numbers showing love for games like The Last Guardian and Doom. But, when all was said and done, it was Naughty Dog’s send-off for Nathan Drake that claimed the title, scoring more than 40% of total submitted votes. Uncharted 4 was praised by many when it came out, and so it’s not too surprising that this got the attention it did by fans. The runners up for this award was Final Fantasy XV, Battlefield 1, and Overwatch.
In the handheld market, a surprise victor was crowned. As World of Final Fantasy got the Best Vita Game award, beating out Steins: Gate 0 and Odin Sphere, as well as Lara Croft Go, Dragon Quest Builders, and Darkest Dungeon.
The indie games also got a slot in the polls, and Firewatch from Camp Santos took home the prize. With Inside, The Witness, and Stardew Valley getting the runner-up spots.
So, what do you think about the list formulated by the PlayStation Blog? Were they “correct”? Or was their something better? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
