It’s always impressive to see just how good a game does. Especially when that game isn’t done or fully released yet. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is an Early Access title on Steam, and because of that, what players are playing right now is technically an incomplete game. However, that doesn’t seem to stop them from doing really really well, as the numbers for the games downloads is quite frankly staggering for an Early Access title, reaching past the 5 million mark.
This comes from Steam Spy, which keeps track of all of these things, and they show that Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds has indeed 5 million downloads. Again, this is supremely impressive, not the least of which is because a lot of what makes this game great is player interaction with the man behind the game. In fact, the whole basis of this game was to make it better through fan playing and feedback, and with 5 million downloads, it’s clear that fans want to see this game succeed.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is a large-scale Battle Royale style game. In it, you’re put onto a massive island and told to survive, as well as kill everyone else on it. Catch is, you have no weapons and no gear, so, you have to explore and get it for yourself. But wandering around the island obviously puts you at risk for getting hurt by another player, so you have to be careful as you wander around.
The game is meant to produce not only really intense tension among the players, but a true experience and battlefield that is unique, growing, and evolving.
Where does it go from here? Well, it’ll hit full release soon, and it’ll come on both PC and Xbox One. So if you haven’t played it yet, you might want to jump on board.
