PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is one of the hottest games around, and that’s something as it came out earlier in the year, and yet has maintained that momentum ever since. Players can’t help but dive into the games 100-man matches to see just who will be the last one standing. Though the game is incomplete, that hasn’t stopped 20 million+ players from getting the game, or 2 million+ players from playing the game at the same time. And now, the game has officially arrived on Xbox One Game Preview, with a full launch coming soon (hopefully.)
But, the game isn’t just on the Xbox One, it’s available on the Xbox One X, which promises higher graphics potential than the standard Xbox One title. But now, Microsoft has revealed a very special offer to those who have been mulling over getting the Xbox One X. From the 17th until the 31st, the game will be bundled with the new console. That’s right, you’ll get the game and the console in one purchase.
Now, we’re not one to look a gibbed horse in the mouth, but we think this deal raises eyebrows. Is Microsoft trying to boost sales of the Xbox One X by making people get it just so they can get PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds free? It’s an interesting situation for sure. On one hand, it is the holiday season, so any and all bundles are fair game, but, the timing of this, with the launch of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on Xbox as a potential console exclusive, does mak you think.
At present, we don’t know the number of Xbox One X’s shown, and as such, we can’t tell if this is a hopeful booster shot of sales or not.
Regardless, the team at PUBG Corp are going to have their hands full, as they still have to finish the game on both PC and Xbox One, and then launch it, and maintain it.
