When it comes to video games, time can change everything. Between pre-launch and post launch, video games can be changed, edited, updated, fixed, refined, everything. For one player, they left the MMORPG Black Desert Online, and then 10 months later returned to find the game much better than when he left it.
What’s ironic about this, is that this player (on Reddit as MyNameIsNotAllan) thought that he wouldn’t be coming back to the game after some changes were made to it early on. But, now that he returned, a lot more has changed, but for the better. Items that he once protested in the marketplace, were now really cheap, making them kind of worth it. Arguably the biggest thing for him with the fact you can now reset your skills in game for free. Whereas before you had to pay an amount to get it done. This was apparently a key reason he left before, so to see it now was a big deal for him.
Add to that, his long gap made his return very lucrative, as he had a LOT of silver waiting for him, and new items, and a lot of EXP for him to level up his character.
In short – Life is good 🙂
That being said, there are still those who think Black Desert Online still needs fixing. Some hate that there isn’t player trade, some hate the lack of dungeons, even ones that were defined as “glitchy”. One player notes that the “endgame” is determined by luck rather than skill, which is not cool for hardcore MMORPG players.
And yet, others are getting back into it as well, and are mimicking MyNameIsNotAllan’s praises for the title, even shooting back at the “haters” who said that BDO isn’t what it could be.
The game has a 7-day free trial, and a brand new expansion to add even more content. Give it a try, and see what side you fall on.
