One of the most exciting parts in the build up of Blizzcon is the speculation. Last year, we were caught up in the whirlwind of rumors of an announcement of Diablo 4, though as we now know, it never came to fruition, and still isn’t to be announced this year either. Nevertheless, that isn’t to say that some rumors won’t be coming true, and here is another concerning World of Warcraft.
An eagle-eyed user on the game’s Reddit page has spotted a rather peculiar note on the description of the murloc kigurumi, which has lead to speculation that they could be announced as playable at Blizzcon this year.
The following image, provided by user schmorgasborg on imgur, specifies that murlocs were considered newly-emerged. The user posted:
It’s not even like they are new lorewise, as there are many other races that i would consider ‘newly-emerged’ before murlocs (worgen, pandaren, mogu, nightborne, etc). So unless the new xpac involves more murlocs, i can’t understand why they would use that term.”
The post does state that this is unlikely to be true and is “wild speculation,” but it is still possible that Blizzard could indeed reveal something along the lines of this when Blizzcon rolls around in a few weeks time. Taking place at the start of November, Blizzcon is bound to reveal something that will excite fans of the established franchises that they play host to, including World of Warcraft. Whether this particular rumor will be a part of this remains to be seen, though either way we won’t have long to wait to find out.
