Western audiences interested in playing Phantasy Star Online 2 may not ever get that opportunity. But there’s a rare chance to get some of the experience in the upcoming crossover with Final Fantasy XIV.
While details on the Final Fantasy end are still a bit foggy, it’s been made clear that on the Phantasy Star Online 2 side of things, players will get the rare opportunity to wear Final Fantasy inspired costumes. Fans will be able to enjoy Moogle themed decorations and before long, challenge the wandering boss Odin. He’ll just show up, so be careful and avoid a crushing defeat. He may even show up during regular quests, so keep your eyes open.
Time will tell what fans of this MMORPG have to expect, but one thing is for certain. If you’ve been hoping to get your hands on Phantasy Star Online 2 this will be your best way to experience that for some time, if ever.
Final Fantasy XIV was recently speculated to be on its way to Xbox One. If that iteration of the game ever comes to pass, this upcoming patch will likely be implemented. For more news on this as it develops check out the official Final Fantasy XIV site here!
