The MOBA Paladins: Champions of the Realm is aiming for a release date later this year. In the process, they’re doing lots of testing via betas that allow the players to not only play, but make suggestions as to what can change, and how it should be changed. Because of that, the game can change significantly from from one test to the next, or between beta and release. Thus, the team makes sure that everyone is well informed of what’s changing via a constant slew of updates and Patch Notes, the latest of which has just released for Open Beta 51.
Naturally, Paladins has made changes to their large roster of characters, tweaking their skills and abilities to better suit the changes both the players and team thing need to happen. But there are plenty of other changes in this patch as well.
For example, the team is going to make it so players can get full character skins without having to try and find all the pieces. These will be called “Champion Skins” and will feature the completed outfit in one go. You can still wear pieces individually if you want, but if you want the full look, they’ve now refined how you can get it.
A fun change is that the Bomb King Announcer Pack has been altered. The players were the ones who wanted this change for the sole reason that the Bomb King didn’t sound like himself in the Announcer Pack. So, the Paladins team took another stab at it, and they hope you appreciate the return to old form for the character.
Other changes in the patch include being able to see your characters models in the Lobby screen. This will allow your fellow teammates to see who you are and if their team is truly balanced. They’ve also removed the Disenchant ability from Legendary and Gold cards because they saw players not playing as a lot of champions because of this.
Be sure to read the full Patch Notes to see all that has been changed in Paladins.
