Paladins Early Access Reaches Top Games On Steam

Paladins has been doing great, apparently. The free-to-play shooter has entered its open beta on Steam, and can be played for free right now. During the first 24 hours of this open beta phase, over 100,000 new accounts were created to play the game.

defending-point-1024x576“The Paladins Open Beta had an explosive first weekend with well over 100,000 new accounts created in the first 24 hours”,  said Todd Harris, Hi-Rez Studios co-founder and COO.

Harris has also stated that there’s been notable attention from eSports organizations and competitive teams. Hi-Rez Studios has announced already that there will be an invitational tournament for Paladins, with a prize pool of $150,000 for winners.

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this game’s early access was its ability to rise into Steam’s top 10 games in such little time.

For those interested, Paladins is a team-based shooter with an emphasis on character customization. It has a unique system of collectible cards that allow for augmentation to individual characters.

This interesting and creative title is still in its Open Beta, so if you’re looking for a game to play, this may be the title for you. You can find links to the official page on the Paladins website. Happy hunting, new players!
