Last summer, the Overwatch community was surprised with an awesome seasonal event now known as Summer Games. Back then, the event brought a variety things such as a new event (Lúcioball), a brand new map(Estádio das Rãs) and a lot of limited items that you were only able to get from the special loot boxes.
The community loved the event and now that summer is back, the excitement and expectations for another Summer Games have risen. That excitement was definitely noted after a theme song was dug up while some players were datamining.
A snippet of this theme song was posted on Reddit by Reddit user DeadGirlDreaming which had the community certain that it was the music for the upcoming Summer Games. The soundtrack resembles a kind of music that would be in a kids movie, filled with a variety of instruments that go along perfectly together which forms a beautiful melody that we may or may not hear once the event goes live.
Adding to the hype of the leaked soundtrack is the fact that the old statistics format from the Lúcioball event that has popped up in the PTR(Public Testing Realm). The “All Modes” character statistics display a couple of the stats from Lúcioball such as Goals, Interceptions, and Saves. This information pretty much confirms that Blizzard is in the making of this year’s Summer Games. Still, these are just speculations and we won’t know if the suspicions are true until Blizzard themselves say so. Until then, keep playing Overwatch and enjoy your summer.
