Overwatch Pro Player Suspended by Blizzard

Blizzard is clearly keeping a close eye on the more high profile players when it comes to Overwatch, as Dante “Danteh” Cruz of Arc6 has been suspended for using an exploit for the hero Sombra.

Danteh is currently suspended until August 10th for using the exploit, after using it on a Twitch stream on August 2nd. The exploit in this case sees Sombra sending her Translocater though a certain segment of a wall on the Temple of Anubis map, which effectively teleports her out of the reach of enemies by sending her back to the respawn point. A clip of the stream can be found here.

Danteh’s ban will only last until next week, and is still able to play the game, it will just be his alternative account that was suspended. Nevertheless, it shows that Blizzard are cracking down on situations such as these. With the Overwatch League fast approaching, Arc6 will want to avoid these situations going forward, if they want to keep on good terms with Blizzard.

This isn’t the first time Blizzard have cracked down on a Pro player. Back in June, Daniel “Dafran” Francesca of Selfless Gaming was found in violation of the Overwatch Contenders rules for deliberately throwing games and what was considered unsportsmanlike behaviour.
