Balancing is an important issue when it comes to games like Overwatch. They have large rosters that have characters with unique skill sets and abilities that must all be accounted for at all times. And then, if some character is too strong, or too weak, it needs to be fixed to preserve the overall gameplay of the title. Overwatch often has a problem with this, as patches and updates make it really hard to keep things balanced. This used to be the main problem with the character Roadhog, now it’s a problem for Hanzo.
To be fair, this isn’t the first time Hanzo has been brought up in terms of changes and nerfing. In fact, we’ve written about this before, months ago. Yet, the problem persists, and because of that, Reddit users are calling for big changes for him. This mainly comes from user Davionboy, who notes that the real key to Hanzo’s OP status is his Scatter Arrow, which can not only help take down teams, but one-shot tanks who should never be one shot by a single arrow:
“From the tips shown for hanzo’s scattershot, I believe that it is designed for ‘clearing out enemy that are in a small enclosed room,’ but having it 1 shot half the tank roster from near to medium range in any type of space?”
The funny part here is that other Reddit users don’t just want a change to Hanzo’s Scatter Arrow, but rather, they want him rebuilt from the ground up.
“He’s annoying to have in your team, he’s annoying to play against, he relies on luck, he’s too powerful and not consistent at the same time.”
The question is, will Blizzard do it? Well, the asking for this started months ago, and it took months for Roadhog to finally toned down. So it appears Overwatch players may just have to do deal with this for a while.
