When it comes to video games, there’s a vast library to choose from, with many different genres that appeal to many different people. There’s even titles that you’d think people wouldn’t like, but they actually do. Every gamer is different, just like every game is different. But sometimes, you can’t help but be curious to see if a certain group of gamers is going to want to get a high profile game that’s coming up soon. For example, are Overwatch players interested in getting Destiny 2?
Random question? Not really, after all, they’re both shooter titles, you can customize the loadouts of your characters to an extent, and you can play it alone or in a team. That’s similar, no? And in the case of Battle.net user eligallus03, he’s just curious:
“I was wondering if a lot of overwatch players were getting it”
Now, there is a little more going on here. Especially when you recall that it’s going to be Blizzard that’s publishing Destiny 2 on PC. They’ll be doing it via their Battle.net service, and the online will be taken care of through there as well. This is actually an unprecedented move, and it’ll be the first non-Blizzard game ever on the service.
As for why it’s happening, Activision-Blizzard has a publishing deal with Destiny 2’s studio, Bungie. And since the original Destiny didn’t come out on PC, there’s no community or precedent for it to just release like other PC titles. And since Battle.net is established, it could work in their favor to see if other Blizzard gamers, including ones from Overwatch, come and check Destiny 2 out because it’s on Battle.net.
So, are they interested? Well, it depends on the gamer. Some are, some aren’t, some want to wait and see, and some refuse to pre-order because they want to see some reviews first Destiny 2 arrives September 8th.
