It never seems to be an easy time to be a fan or a main of Overwatch hero, Ana. Ever since she was initially introduced to the roster, she has been on the receiving end of seemingly endless negative alterations by Blizzard. The support hero has been subject to a number of nerfs, which has seen her popularity take a significant dip, particularly in her pick rate in Competitive Play.
This situation was only exacerbated by fellow support hero Mercy being buffed on numerous occasions, which only seemed to highlight Ana’s newly applied frailties even further. So you’d think, at the very, very least, we would be able to get a Halloween skin for Ana as advertised, right? Surely Blizzard could at least afford us that?
Sadly, the answer is no. The Halloween Terror 2017 event brings a number of new skins to suit the event’s spooky theme, of which Ana would sport a pirate-themed “corsair” skin, complete with a parrot on the shoulder for that extra touch of authenticity. This is where we get left out.
According to fans on the game’s Subreddit, although the skin does feature a parrot on her shoulder, it doesn’t actually appear in any matches, proving to be a source of great frustration for many players.
“yes, I did spend 3000 coins on Ana’s legendary skin. And yes, I know she is not in a good place. I just wanted the damn parrot.”
Meanwhile, weedstockman ‘s response raised an interesting point:
“If they didn’t want to render the parrot in-game then it should not be in the skin at all. Otherwise it’s false advertising.”
It isn’t the most pressing issue in the world of Overwatch, but come on Blizzard, can we at least get the parrot?
