For the gaming community, one of the biggest requests that can be had is the request of being heard. In other words, if something is wrong, or something is missing, or something just isn’t right with the game, and they talk about it on “official” forums, players hope the developers would hear them and then fix the problem. Thankfully, with modern technology, that is a lot easier for both fans and developers to do. And in the case of Overwatch, Blizzard actually has done really well (in most cases) of hearing the fanbase.
But the Overwatch community is also really creative, so they decided to take the initiative and really make this happen by creating a special survey to show Blizzard what they want in the game next. This survey was built by Battle.net user TGamer, who really wanted to show Blizzard what fans want, and aren’t “what they are screaming about,” which is a noble goal. As for what questions are asked on the survey, here’s the breakdown.
There’s a question about what the next hero type should be (I.E tank, healer, DPS, etc.). There’s a LONG list of the characters and which of them should be adjusted. A request to potentially change Mercy’s Ult Attack. A question about what should be done to Roadhog (again), with a similar question about Junkrat. Who players main, who needs to have abilities altered, and so much more.
Now, whether Blizzard sees this survey or not is up in the air, but Blizzard has been good about keeping track on the Overwatch forums on Battle.net, even springing up in topics you’d never expect to see them in.
Plus, they honestly do listen to their players. That’s the main reason Doomfist is set to be in the game, because fans wanted him in there. So go check out the survey, and see if you can help influence what happens in the game next.
