Blizzard Entertainment has announced that it will be celebrating the first anniversary of the immensely popular first-person shooter Overwatch. In order to commemorate the occasion, players will be granted double experience by logging in this weekend.
Starting tomorrow and running through to Monday, June 12th, players can log in on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC to get their hands on double in-game XP, which will be applied as a bonus based on your time spent in a match, match completion, completing consecutive matches, winning matches, backfilling match in progress and earning medals.
So there’s plenty of ways for you to double up your XP, which will “stack multiplicatively with existing group and IGR bonuses” according to the official website. The only instance in which your XP will not be doubled is in your First Win of the Day bonus, which will stay at 1500 XP.
A statement on the official site reads:
Thank you so much for your support, passion, feedback, and enthusiasm. We hope to see you in-game this weekend and wish you many awesome adventures in the year to come!
The bonus period begins across all platforms in all regions tomorrow on Thursday, June 8th at 5PM PDT, ending on 11:59PM PDT. For a comprehensive list of when the bonuses go live in your specific region, check out the official Overwatch website, or head to the time zone converter for further assistance.
