Say what you will about how long Overwatch takes to bring new characters and levels to the game, but one things fans can’t deny is that the team at Blizzard have brought some very interesting events to the popular title. The first ever event was the Summer Games, which put a fun twist on the gameplay style, and even added new ways to play like Lucioball. Well, a year has passed, but it’s still Summer, and so Blizzard has revealed that the Summer Games are coming back next week. With some improvements that is.

This announcement came via a developer update that you can see below. Blizzard made sure to thank all the fans/gamers who not only played the original Summer Games, but also left feedback for it. It’s through your feedback that the games are in the improved state that they are for this year.

So, what’s coming in the Summer Games update?

Well, Lucioball is indeed back by popular demand. Like last time, it’ll only be a timed-event, but it’ll have some fun improvements. For example, the game will have a new arena for you to play in, and it’s set in Sydney, Australia! Also, the games rules have been changed, and some of the abilities of Lucio have been modified to better balance the game.

Finally, the mode will have ranked play for the first time. So now you can take your love of Lucioball to the next level.

Naturally, the characters of Overwatch will get some new looks and outfits via the Summer Games. Skins can be bought for various prices. Oh, but if you didn’t get one from last year? No worries! They’re selling those at a discount!

The Summer Games will start on August 8th, and will run until the 29th. So don’t miss the chance to enjoy one of the most popular events Overwatch has ever had.
