Warframe is a free-to-play third-person shooter from Digital Extremes. The most recent update for the game comes in the form of Harrow, a new playable character coming to the game this week. Today, on the Warframe Youtube channel. the developers released a “Warframe Profile” on Harrow, detailing all of his abilities.
Harrow is a priest or cleric-like warframe whose main role is to support the rest of the team with abilities that prevent damage from enemies and increase the damage of teammates. This new frame will be coming in a major update to the game called “Chains of Harrow” which will bring a new Harrow-related quest and a drastic improvement of the textures found on the Earth maps.
The video shows players how Harrow can be used in battle. Narrated by everyone’s favourite space mom, Lotus (AKA DE’s Community Producer Rebecca Ford), we see all four of the character’s abilities in action in a little over a minute.
Harrow’s first ability, Condemn, is useful for a variety of reasons. First and foremost, Condemn holds enemies in place in a wave of energy. Not only does every enemy held boost Harrows shield, but it makes it much easier to headshot your foes which comes into play in later abilities.
Penance, Harrows second ability, sacrifices the frame’s shield to give himself a temporary boost of reload speed and fire rate. Any damage inflicted by Harrow onto his enemies during the duration of this ability converts into health for both Harrow and his allies.
The third ability is called Thurible. Every time Harrow gets a kill while Thurible is active, a burst of energy is given to him and any nearby allies. The amount of energy given is increased depending on how long the ability is active and if the enemy was killed with a headshot.
And finally, Covenant. Harrow’s fourth ability protects allies in range of any oncoming damage. The would-be damage is turned into crit chance for all the allies affected. This, again, is amplified with headshots.
