Total War: Warhammer 2 is out to do something special. It’s out to top the original game that many have praised. And while that’s no easy task, it’s clear the team behind the game is not backing down from the challenge. The game is set for release on September 28th, and much footage has been shown for the game, but with each new piece of the puzzle, the intrigue grows. This only continues with the latest trailer, which shows off the Dark Elves faction that is in the game, as well as teasing the campaign you can expect from them.

For their campaign, you’ll take control of the Witch King of Naggaroth, who has his eyes set on not only burning the Empire of Elves that cast him, his mother, and his people out, but also controlling the power of the Great Vortex and using its power to make him even stronger.

So that’s frightening. And as the trailer shows, this guy isn’t messing around. He has incredible power, as well as wicked beasts that serve his beck and call. This is but a taste of what you can expect from the Dark Elves faction and their campaign through Total War: Warhammer 2, so you best prepare yourselves for the darkness that is coming.

But of course, they aren’t the only ones you can play as. Along with the falling of the Great Vortex comes other races that you can control and guide. The High Elves want nothing more than to restore balance to the Vortex in order to maintain the peace. Then, there’s the Lizardmen, who are facing extinction and believe that the Great Vortex might just be able to prevent it. Massive battles await you in Total War: Warhammer 2, are you ready for a war of grand scale?
