Star Wars

According to an industry insider, BioWare Austin could possibly be working on a new Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic game. Insider Liam Robertson, who revealed information from anonymous sources via his Patreon-based podcast, BioWare Austin are working exclusively on Star Wars games “for the indefinite future” and that a remake or revival of KOTOR could well be in development.

Speaking of development, it has apparently been worked on for quite some time, though a release date is nowhere in sight at this time. Apparently, the game has transcended beyond what was simply intended as a remake into an entity of its own, though of course, so far what that is remains to be seen. The project so far has been referred to as “wiping the slate clean” and there seems to be some confusing as to what it actually is, which is understandable at such an early stage.

This is definitely a rumor that needs to be taken with a pinch of salt, if not a handful. Yet its not a complete stab in the dark in terms of guessing at what is really happening. With EA having exclusive rights to the Star Wars video games, it will surely want to capitalize by releasing new games in different offsets of the franchise.

Do you believe this rumor to be true, or are Bioware Austin working on something else? Would you like to see a brand new Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic game? Let us know in the comments section below.
