Nintendo has recently announced that new three Pokemon titles will be made available on the Wii U as part of their Virtual Console service on Thursday, June 23rd.
These three titles are all from the dungeon-crawling Pokemon spin-off series, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. Specifically, the games are: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team, and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky.
For anyone that hasn’t played the previous Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games, now’s your chance. Don’t miss out on the first entries into what is possibly the most popular Pokemon spin-off series. For complete strangers to the series, here’s a description by Nintendo:
What if you woke up one day, and you were a Pokémon? What if all of a sudden you find yourself in a NEW world, where you can speak and interact with other Pokémon? The adventure begins when you and your partner Pokémon set out on rescue missions in a world ravaged by natural disasters. But, what is your true purpose and destiny in this Pokémon world? That’s the REAL mystery…
This news isn’t that surprising because on November 12th, 2015, Nintendo announced their plan to release Pokemon Red, Pokemon Blue, and Pokemon Yellow on the 3DS. The games were successfully released on February 27th, 2016, and was met with huge support from the community. No doubt that the reception received by the old Pokemon games had sparked a movement of transferring previous Pokemon titles to modern consoles. Nintendo has promised to add more Pokemon games to the Virtual Console throughout this Summer.
Nintendo has not yet revealed how much the games will cost on the Wii U. The official announcement by Nintendo on this topic can be found on their official website.
