New Injustice 2 Trailer Shows Off The Flash

Injustice 2 is the sequel to the hit DC Comics focused fighting game made by Netherrealm Studios. To build up the hype for the game, the dev team has been releasing small teaser trailers in the form of the “Shattered Alliances” for the story of the game, and then character trailers to show off the skills and abilities of those on the roster. The newest one has arrived, and it shows off the “fastest man alive.”

Barry Allen, aka the Flash, had arguably one of the bigger characters arcs in the original Injustice story line. Both in the comic prequel and the game he often times struggled with what the Regime did, but he was never strong enough to resist Superman’s will. However, when Superman killed Shazam right in front of him, he knew that enough was enough. So, he defected, and helped Batman and the other world Justice League take down Superman and the regime.

According to the snippet in the description of the trailer, after the events of Injustice, Barry hung up his superhero costume out of shame for supporting Superman for so long. But, he’s called back into action when new villains arise. This isn’t so shocking when you look at the trailers, for three villains that have been shown to be in The Society are Gorilla Grodd, Captain Cold, and Reverse Flash. Since these are three major Flash villains, it makes sense that Barry would come back to try and stop them as well as try and redeem himself.

As you can see in the trailer above, Flash maintains his super speed fighting style. From delivering a fast flurry of punches, to hurling lighting, and then using the Speed Force to travel through time, it’s all in a day’s work for the fastest man alive.

Injustice 2 arrives on Xbox One and PS4 on May 16th.
